RadSat 3

Rapid Deployment Unit

A portable, self-contained radiation monitoring terminal built for rapid deployment in high-dose environments. Rugged waterproof case, 11-hour battery, built-in EPD reader, and RadSight Live software — operational within minutes of arrival on site.

Description

The RadSat 3 is a portable, stand-alone radiation monitoring terminal designed for deployment in areas where radiation exposure is a risk and infrastructure is limited or unavailable. Housed in a rugged Pelican case, it is fully self-contained — carrying EPDs, radios, batteries, and all required components within the case itself, with no dependency on external equipment or fixed network connections.

The unit runs RadSight Live software on a 15.6-inch Full HD touchscreen, presenting real-time dose and dose rate data for an entire monitored team on a single display. Coloured alarm bars highlight when dose limits are approached or exceeded. A built-in EPD reader slot handles dosimeter preparation, worker assignment, and dose tracking without additional hardware. The system also supports RadEye and other sensors compatible with the RadSight radio and software ecosystem, extending monitoring capability beyond standard EPD dosimetry where deployments require it.

Powered by a rechargeable sealed battery providing up to 11 hours of continuous operation, RadSat 3 is rated IP65 when closed and IP5X when open. It meets MIL-STD-810H and MIL-STD-461G compliance standards. Telemetry support includes TruDose (Mk3) via Bluetooth, and EPD Mk2 with teleadapters when paired with a Link2-USB or LTS-06 mesh radio unit — connection method detail that matters for compatibility planning at mixed-dosimeter facilities.

Key Features

Operational within minutes

Designed for efficient field deployment with minimal setup. The self-contained case carries all required components — EPDs, radios, batteries, and configurable storage solutions — eliminating the need for pre-positioned infrastructure. Portability means teams can be monitored anywhere in the facility with minimal setup time, and radiation data can be rapidly offloaded for analysis via USB connector at the end of a shift.

Real-time team monitoring on a single display

RadSight Live software presents live dose and dose rate data for every monitored worker simultaneously. Coloured alarm bars provide instant visual warning when dose limits are approached or exceeded, with historical data accessible for reporting.

11-hour battery life

A built-in rechargeable sealed battery provides up to 11 hours of continuous operation. The unit runs without external power, making it suitable for remote sites, outage work, and emergency response scenarios where mains power is unavailable.

Built-in EPD reader

The integrated EPD reader slot handles dosimeter issue, worker assignment, and dose tracking directly from the unit. Supports EPD MKII and TruDose dosimeters. Radiation data can be exported via USB connector for rapid offload and analysis.

Rugged and field-rated

Housed in a rugged Pelican case rated IP65 when closed and IP5X when open. Meets MIL-STD-810H environmental and MIL-STD-461G electromagnetic compliance standards. Bright 800 cd/m² display maintains legibility in high ambient light conditions.

Automatic screen power-off when closed

The screen powers down automatically when the case is closed, conserving battery capacity during transport between deployment locations. This behaviour is passive and requires no user action — the unit is ready to monitor again the moment the case is opened.

Configurable EPD storage

Internal storage accommodates EPD MKII, TruDose, RadEye, RadFlash, and DMC devices, configurable to the specific requirements of each deployment. Storage solutions are adjustable per deployment rather than fixed at manufacture — the case can be reconfigured as dosimeter fleet composition changes over time.
